I hope you are having a wonderful weekend! It’s the 2nd week of spring in Australia and it’s already more like summer. Totally loving my new beach pad to enjoy the beautiful weather.
I wanted to share with you some of my random healthy living tips from the past few days. You may like to follow me on instagram under fitgirlsecrets to see more of my healthy life.
1. Hill sprints – On my street it’s called torture with a view. I spent my morning doing hill sprints before I went to the gym to finish with weights. Yes I am a little cray cray! I have a photoshoot coming up for my online fitness program and Fit Girl Secrets website and working towards carving out my abs and building muscle in my legs and butt. If you want to see results quickly hill or stair sprints should be your best friend. I hate them though!!
2. Reboot Your Life Juice – I am addicted to these. I get so disappointed if I walk into Woolworths and they don’t have Mean and Green which on this day was the case! This flavour is pretty awesome too. What I love about reboot is that they are have no added sugar, have low fruit sugar (compared to most bottled juices) and they are bottled in a way that keeps in the nutrients (High pressurized processing). Not as great as a freshy, but better than all the other juices and cheaper option than buying a fresh juice.
3. Organic chocolate from Aldi – So now that I am living in a one bedroom apartment paying way too much rent I have resorted to shopping at Aldi. I use to make fun of my Mum for having all Aldi products and I am turning into my mother. I was freak’n excited to find out they had organic dark chocolate pretty much identical to the brand I normally buy! Plus it is sersiously good, I mean too good, I could actually probably eat the whole block, which isn’t great. Aldi also have another dak chocolate that is really low in sugar and very rich so you don’t need to eat much.
4. Chocolate cupcakes – I have been making this every week. You know I am a chocolate addict! This recipes was the best I have tried. Super easy and no refined sugar! This is a recipe from The Healthy Chef.
1 ½ cups (150g) almond meal
¼ cup (21 g) unsweetened good quality cocoa powder
1 teaspoon gluten free baking powder
2 free range/ organic eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
60 ml (1/4 cup) macadamia nut oil, light olive oil, avocado oil or cold pressed coconut oil
60 ml milk (¼ cup) your choice of dairy, almond or soy
2 tablespoons honey or rice malt syrup ( I used 1.4 cup coconut sugar)
